UP: Two dead, 20 injured after bus falls into gorge in Siddharthnagar – World News Network

Siddharthnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 18 (ANI): Two individuals lost their lives and 20 others were injured when a private bus returning from a religious site lost control and plunged into a ravine on the Balrampur road in the Dheberua police station area in UP’s Siddharthnagar.

The victims were all residents of Mahankola village in the Shohratgarh tehsil.

“Atleast 55 people from the Mohankola Panchayat were travelling in the bus. The bus fell into the gorge near the Chargaon River. The people from the nearby areas came to their rescue. Everyone has been evacuated from the bus. 2 people have died in the incident and two were referred to the district hospital. 22 people face injury,” District Magistrate RajaGanpati informed the media.

Emergency services, along with police, SSB personnel, and local residents, rushed to the scene to assist with rescue operations. The injured have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and efforts are underway to provide support to the affected families. (ANI)
