Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 5 (ANI): In a major crackdown on liquor smuggling, the Telangana prohibition and excise department seized 415 bottles of non-duty paid liquor (NDPL) at Shamshabad airport, officials said on Thursday.
The liquor with an estimated value of Rs 12 lakh was being transported from Goa to Hyderabad via air cargo, they said, adding that 12 individuals involved in transporting the non-duty paid liquor have been booked.
According to an excise department official, around 415 bottles of non-duty paid liquor were seized at Shamshabad airport. The seized bottles contained 352.68 litres of liquor.”
“A joint team of excise enforcement officials, including director VB Kamalasan Reddy, DC Rangareddy Dasarath, AC R Kishan, AE S Jeevan Kiran, two enforcement teams, and the Shamshabad DTF excise police team, conducted the raid,” officials said.
