Karimganj (Assam) [India], July 23 (ANI): Six people, including an 18-month-old child, were killed and another was injured when an auto-rickshaw they were travelling in collided with a car in Assam’s Karimganj district on Tuesday, police said.
The accident occurred in the Nilam Bazar area of the Karimganj district.
According to officials, the victims were travelling in an autorickshaw when it collided with a car, leaving six of them dead.
Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Protim Das told ANI that the accident took place in the Nilam Bazar area of the district.
“Six people, including an 18-month-old child, died in the accident. One person was seriously injured in the incident and referred to Silchar Medical College & Hospital,” SP Das said.
Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed grief over the incident.
