New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): After India reported 1,000 active COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured on Monday that all city hospitals are fully prepared, and there is no cause for public concern.
Speaking to mediapersons, Gupta said, “The government has taken full cognisance of the COVID cases. Our hospitals are fully prepared; there is no need to panic. We are keeping an eye on the situation.”
She further said that the BJP government in Delhi will hand over a report card to the public on May 31 on the completion of its 100 days.
“The Delhi government is working 24/7 in these 100 days. When our government completes 100 days on the 30th of May, we will also hand over our report card to the public on the 31st… We will give details of all the work we have done,” the Delhi CM said.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to check Delhi’s waterlogging situation.
“Delhi had been battling the problem of waterlogging for years, but this time, even after three record-breaking rains, the situation in the city was under control, and the water drained out within an hour. The amount of desilting that has happened in Delhi is historic… It will be completely cleaned in the coming days,” he added.
India on Monday reported a total of 1,009 active COVID-19 cases in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. As per the Health Ministry, India’s COVID-19 update showed a total of 1009 active cases, with 752 new cases recently confirmed.
According to the government data, Kerala currently tops the chart with the highest number of active cases at 430. Other states with notable case counts include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
On Saturday, Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava reviewed the matter regarding COVID-19 cases reported across multiple states, mainly from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc., according to official sources. (ANI)
