BSF seizes narcotics, rescues large number of cattle heads on Indo-Bangladesh border – World News Network

Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 30 (ANI): In yet another success in its drive against trans-border crimes and narcotics trafficking, troops under the Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier foiled a smuggling bid and seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN), narcotics and rescued large number of cattle heads meant for smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh international border.
Acting on reliable input, a special joint search operation was launched by BSF troops of 31 BN along with Assam Police in the bordering village – Kedar Part-III of Dhubri district of Assam and vigilant troops fake Indian currency notes (FICN) having face value of Rs 20,000 and also succeeded to seize Narcotics substances on Indo-Bangladesh International Border.

In other operations, on reliable intelligence inputs, the vigilant BSF troops of 19,14, 49 and Adhoc G-10 BN seized contrabands worth Rs 4.35 lakh and rescued 81 cattle heads meant for smuggling to Bangladesh from the bordering area of Dist- Coochbehar (West Bengal) on Indo-Bangladesh international border.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of the border, heightened activities of trans-border criminals and anti-national elements on the border.
Despite weather, terrain and demographical challenges, BSF troops are always alert to thwart trans-border crimes and are making all-out efforts to prevent the commission of such crimes. (ANI)
